Heart Bowl was photographed in La Jolla, California at a well known surf spot called Big Rock just south of Windansea Beach. This highly difficult shot requires one to be pulling in one direction while the wave is sucking in the other direction. This wave breaks over  extremely shallow and jagged rock reef. The homes along the coastline being lit up by the colors of the sunset really make this image pop.
